Everyone knows the secret word except the impostor: give clues, vote and unmask them.
El Impostor is the house game for big groups: 3 to 16 players. With 3 or 4 it is a battle of nerves; from 6 upwards, with two or three impostors, it becomes a web of crossed suspicions.
Each word takes a few minutes and a three-word game between ten and fifteen. It is ideal for playing in the same room, each on their own phone, or remotely with the room chat.
The table deals the words, stops civilians from typing the secret word, collects the votes in secret and reveals who was who. There are almost six hundred words in nineteen categories.
How many impostors there are (one to five, by table size or random and secret), what help they get (none, the category or a hint), which category the words come from, how many laps of clues come before each vote, how many words the game lasts and whether the impostors know each other.
Check your card at the top: either the secret word, or "Impostor" with your help. Tap it to hide it if someone is next to you.
When it is your turn, type your clue and press "Say it". You have 45 seconds; if they run out, it counts as saying nothing.
In the vote, tap the player you think is the impostor and confirm, or vote blank. Meanwhile you can argue it out in the chat below.
